Day 23

We are in Halifax……finally. We played a concert in nicole’s backyard lastnight. The grey clouds were looming over our heads, but we were able to still have a great evening. Had a big BBQ, along with pickled eggs and watermelon, lots of kind, friendly folks, children and lots of mosquitos. After we finished and packed up our gear, we decided to hit the town and go hear some live music with Nicole and her friends. It was so refreshing to be able to see someone else play. I forget what the venue was called, kind of felt like a brick basement with pretty lights. Very cozy. And the music was incredible. Check out Christina Martins. Don’t like to put labels on, but she sounds a little like Emmylou Harris and Patty Griffin. She played some solo stuff at first and then her band joined her. Oh, did that ever make us miss playing with Chris and Kenton. I think we’re getting this duo act thing down, but looking forward to playing with the band again. We are off to explore the city then off to Berwick city to play a show tonight.
