Tour Log
Days 17, 18, 19, 20 and 21 (We are tired, lazy, and sorry it’s been so long since we last talked)
SO! This past weekend brought us to Ottawa where we met up with some wonderful friends from Victoria (pictured above with their baby). We went to the parliament buildings and hung with Harper. We walked in the market. I had way too much sheesha pipe and we ate amazing Ethiopian food (pictures above). And we played 2 great shows. Show #1 was at the Treehouse. The venue was this incredible old house with high ceilings and out host Ashley was very welcoming and well organized, which makes for a great house concert.
Show #2 was at Eclesiax which was based in an old church building in Gleeb (kind of like the Kitsilano of Vancouver). The venue was really beautiful and inspiring. Also a fun, hot and intimate show.
We stayed in Ottawa an extra day to see some more of the city. The Hoskyns were amazing hosts for the whole weekend and the crepes were phenominal.
Than on Tuesday we left early for Montreal. We Hung out again with Dave, Lauren and Ezekiel (Victoria) and had a wonderful day with them. It kind if felt like they were our tour lackeys.
Played at L’escelier last night. Seriously, this tour should be called the ‘Hot and Intimate’ tour. Again a small venue with great people. By far the most attentive bar audience we’ve ever had.
Last few days it’s been hard to want to keep driving east. It feels like we’re so far from home already and the thought of driving even farther is a bit daunting. One of the servers at the bar last night told us ‘tomorrow is tomorrow’ and not to worry. Prophetic. So this evening we are camping in a beautiful quaint little campground in the middle of New Brunswick, and loving the company of each other and our iPhone (not so much the phone). A lake in front of us, fire flys all around and a warm cozy box bed in the cabin of our van.
