The Sault
Sitting in a great cafe called Dish in Sault Ste Marie which actually reminds us of home. We’ve got some time to kill before the show at 10pm tonight at Lop Lops.
We left our little haven, Rock Island Lodge late morning and enjoyed driving through Lake Superior Provincial park. the wide open waters and “large hills and cliffs” looks so much like home. We stopped in at Pancak Bay Beach and enjoyed some more peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and a game of crib by the water. Some of you know, that I’m a bit of a gamer, not computer games or settler’s, but any other kind of games, I love. I usually have to do a bit of begging and pleading for Jer to play, but today he surprised me and asked me if I wanted to play crib. I was in my glory…….and won……twice.
I’ll end with a poem I wrote a week ago in Saskatchewan, tried posting it once, but didnt work, we’ll see if it works this time.
Lilac bushes in a bunch, broken wood fence by the barn.
two golden horses stand in salute, with grass up to their thighs, swatting flies with their tangled tails.
a grain elevator up ahead, six grey silos side by side appearing as camoflauge with the sky. The sky that looks like rain before 5 pm. Not one white cloud, even in the distance.
We’ll drive in our grey van, on this grey hwy, with the sky and silos to match.
Sheree (jittering with too much coffee)
