Tour Log
Day 6 & 7
It is essential when touring through Manitoba to go and visit Sheree’s family. Most of them live in a small town called Morweena, 2 hours north of Winnipeg. Some live in Arborg, and others right in Winnipeg. But coming to Morweena is by far the best thing about Manitoba. Wide open country everywhere you look. Beautiful land and beautiful people. Dial up internet. No cell phone service. Usually my stomach is full within the first 5 minutes of being here, until the very second I leave. This means I seriously need to get this workout thing happening.
Thanks for all the suggestions about how to stay in shape on the road. I have a bit more deliberating to do to see who is the winner, but Stephen Hubbard, Desiree Meyers and David Pasiverta are all pretty close.
Stephen Hubbard:
“I would check out what is commonly called the “Prison Workout”. They are technically called “burpies” I believe (combination squat, lunge, pushup, and leap), and if you do them in descending sets you will get owned. It seems like it would work out perfectly for you. I’ve tried it as well, and it is harder than it looks. Just watch:

“yoga, Jer, do yoga, while you are travelling, its the bomb.”
Desiree Meyers:
“I saw a guy doing sit ups in his car on the commute to work. He was
behind me, and I could see in the rearview that he had lowered his seat
back a bit and was doing them while driving.
You could do it, but I don’t particularly recommend it. You have a bed in the back. Do them when Sher is driving.
And swim as much as you can in any awesome lake this country has to
offer you.”
I think feasibly speaking, either Desiree or Stephen deserve the songs, but I’ll probably just send them to all of you. So calm down.
IN OTHER NEWS!
We’ll be on CBC Radio 3 this afternoon at 1pm (Pacific Time) doing the Tour Diary with Lisa Christiansen. I’m not sure if it’s live or not, but if it’s live, we’ll be on around than. Listen in!
Other than that - we’ve got a long driving day tomorrow to Thunder Bay. The show tomorrow night could be cancelled, but we’ll drive that way anyway so that we can get through to Toronto sooner.
More to come!
