This Friday's Show
Pacific Theatre homecoming show THIS FRIDAY NIGHT (July 24th) w/ Daniel Huscroft (of Cowboys and Indians)! Tickets are $10 and every ticket sold comes with a free download card of 3 unreleased songs from Sheree’s new album. Doors at 7.30, starts at 8pm.
It’s gonna be madness! We played with Dan in Calgary on our tour last month and he was amazing. Please come and bring your friends....

Yesterday, We started the morning off by having a wonderful breakfast and visit with Jo Brandt. There was fresh rhubarb muffins, fresh squeaky cheese and coffee. Wedding Bells
Tonight we head out to Rosenort MB for the rehearsal of the wedding that we’re playing at tomorrow night. Rosenort is way fun and we can usually wind up getting into trouble. The town just calls for trouble for some reason - it always has for me.

Finally Back in Western Canada
We arrived safely in Winnipeg on Monday night after roughly 18 hrs of traveling. It was good to get here.
No shows this week, but a wedding that we’re playing at is on Friday, and than I think we are going camping this weekend with Sheree’s family.

Driving driving driving
We are just finishing an 11 hour drive from Montreal to Sault Ste. Marie. Tired. Grumpy. Thankful that we’re safe.
Sheree wants me to mention that we ate really tasty vegetable sandwiches, and read Father Arseny out loud and could hardly put it down.

Slowly We Make Our Way
Driving to Montreal today. Slept in NB last night in some beautiful lost campground that we’ll probably never see again.
Tonight we get to see some great friends Dr. Dave and Teacher Esther. They moved to Montreal this last week from Vancouver and we haven’t seen them since we left 80 years ago. This should be a nice taste of home.

Day 29ish
We are west bound! After one more stop at the Biscuit Eater in Mahone Bay with the family, we are officially traveling home.
Jer and Uncle Errol gave the van(Shamu) an oil change and fixed a broken seal this morning, so we are hoping for smooth sailing.
Our destination is Montreal, but we’ll probably break the drive up and go camping tonight.

We’ve been just loving our family time out here in Mahone Bay. First thing we did was had a big muscle boil with all the cousins and their kids and cats and so on.

So last night in Berwick was awesome. We played as the feature for an open mic night that they host every Friday night. Homesick in Berwick
I have a house? With a garden? A place that I sleep for more than 1 night in a row? A bed? Cupboards?a dresser? A stove?
My own bathroom?
The things we have access to on a regular basis seem like they hardly exist anymore. It’s crazy what 3 weeks of travel can do to me. My reference for normal is almost lost already. Stretching.
Also - Berwick is the Apple Capital of Atlantic Canada.

We are in Halifax……finally. We played a concert in nicole’s backyard lastnight. The grey clouds were looming over our heads, but we were able to still have a great evening. Had a big BBQ, along with pickled eggs and watermelon, lots of kind, friendly folks, children and lots of mosquitos.

Atlantic ocean, here we come! Blue skies, rolling hills and an open road. When the day is done, we will have driven from coast to coast, after a couple days, we’ll turn around and do it again!

Day 16
Terrential rain at 2 am, on route to Kitchener for a couple hours of shut eye. Jer is the captain, attending the wheel. We will wake up bright and early, to play a show in Ottawa tomorrow evening. We hopefully won’t get stuck in traffic while passing through Toronto. That would only give us one more reason to love Toronto the way that we do.

Day 14
We gave the ol girl a nice soapy bath this afternoon (our van), it was definitely time. Jer renamed our van today while scrubbing her sides, her new name is Shamu. He said he felt like he was giving a whale a bath. Now she’s all shiny and ready for Halifax next week.

Under the stars at Dana’s house in Kitchener ON. Fire light, mild sun burn. Talking about life and dreaming of a simple life on the farm.

Sun. Vinyard. Wine. 4.5 hour set. If more shows were like these, we would not be dissapointed. This was a good day.

Today we woke up in our friend Bethany Doerksens house. We had no idea that she lived in the Soo, but it was a pleasant surprise because we thought we’d be sleeping in our van in some creepy parking lot. And she’s a really great mid-wife full of energy, health and Surfer lingo.
Along the drive today (8.5 hours) I’ve been feeling a bit home sick. Counting...
The Sault
Sitting in a great cafe called Dish in Sault Ste Marie which actually reminds us of home. We’ve got some time to kill before the show at 10pm tonight at Lop Lops.
We left our little haven, Rock Island Lodge late morning and enjoyed driving through Lake Superior Provincial park. the wide open waters and “large hills and cliffs” looks so much like home. We stopped in at Pancak Bay...

Day 6 & 7
It is essential when touring through Manitoba to go and visit Sheree’s family. Most of them live in a small town called Morweena, 2 hours north of Winnipeg. Some live in Arborg, and others right in Winnipeg. But coming to Morweena is by far the best thing about Manitoba. Wide open country everywhere you look. Beautiful land and beautiful people. Day 5
The only thing that is routine about touring is that there is nothing routine about touring, and any kind of regular scheduling is thrown out the window. Thus these blog postings are coming later and later each day.

Day 4
We did blog yesterday, but it got deleted. Sheree wrote a great poem yesterday, and wrote it on the blog, but for some reason it didn’t work.
Yesterday we drove for a loong time. Spent about 16 hours in the van. It was really nice actually, to just sit in the van and watch the sun set and look at all the vast beautiful prairie sky.

Prep and Other Things
Over the past week or so, we’ve been busy bodies trying to get ready for tour. Glueing, pasting, cutting, rolling, shaking.
We’re DIYing as Sheree puts together more of the new Red Circled Heart albums, and I cut and paste the download codes onto the cards.
Chris and I put together a little tutorial on how to pack the van most efficiently so that all the gear fits under the bed.
