Jere(me) has been working on this new project called ‘the SERIES’ for a small theatre in Vancouver - Pacific Theatre. Think I’m selfish for booking my wife as the premier event? Well - I am kinda selfish. But that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t come to the show next Friday night. It’s gonna be really really special. (Also the folks at Pacific Theatre suggested I go with what I know for the first show - that way incase anything royally screws up, I can only get mad at me).
Friday, October 23, 2009. $12.50. Doors at 7.30pm - starts at 8.00 w/ Jonathan Inc.! 1440 W 12th Ave, Vancouver BC. To buy tix go to www.pacifictheatre.org and click on ‘Buy Tickets’.
So beyond that - I am working and working away on getting this new album out the door. We’re getting closer by the day. Our friends James and Katherine Moes are working on the photo’s and design down in Seattle. We’re excited to see what they come up with! And I am booking a tour for December, and getting ready to do a publicity push for the new album starting this November.
I’m also pursuing some dreams of mine to learn how to repair guitars - fretts and set ups, electronics, all that business. SO FUN! Email me if you have any guitars sitting around that need some love.
Okay - enough about me. What about you? How are you? What have you been up to? Are you excited about the fall rains coming?
Nice chatting with you
In other news - Sheree and I have moved to East Vancouver - and are loving it. Hastings Sunrise is a beautiful small little community in Vancouver where many families, ethnicities, small markets, parks and boutique food joints reside (namely the Roundel Cafe where we ate this morning … excellent food, and JJ Bean where I have had many-a-delicious Americano’s already.)
I’m full steam ahead, working on Sheree’s album and trying to get that released sometime before the year ends. Hopefully by Christmas.
So plans for the future involve: the release of 'Road to My Family' December ‘09, a release tour paired with a Christmas tour with the band - than a few other crazy things in the new year. To be announced soon… (trust me, you won’t want to miss this news!)
Keep checking in!
The Tour Diary got a little (a lot) sloppy there on the road last week. We’ve got some great video coming soon of Lance going completely nuts listening to french techno music. You’ll love it … Lance probably will not.
Tour was really really good. Quick and dirty, 6 shows in 6 days.
Lots of: fun, Lefse, sleeping, making music, wheezing (from laughing and other things), sitting, meeting great people, house concerts, apple juice, late night snacking, go-carting, batting cages, Booster Juice, wheat grass shots from Booster Juice, feeling ill from wheat grass shots at Booster Juice, packing, unpacking, etc. etc.
watch real soon our show at Streamingcafe.net (not .com).
Tech difficulties are holding us up a couple minutes. Hang tight!
It’s good to be home.
I got up at 3.45 am this morning to go and act in a short film my friend Isaiah Huizenga is making with another friend Jesse Butler. We started in the downtown east-side amongst the ragged prostitutes and homeless folk, than switched completely and wound up on the roof of a Yaletown hi-rise. It was a pretty weird contrast, but amazing to watch the sun rise with that view.
We are starting to plan for our tour with Lance Odegard coming in September, based around the Farm Festival in Calgary on the 19th. So it’s back to booking mode for us. Also looking for a farm to live on. Email me if you know of a good one! (Seriously: email@example.com)
Other wise, we’re trying to settle in and make our house feel like home again. It was one of the most surreal things I’ve ever experienced - walking back into a place that was apparently “ours”, but felt like someone else’s place. Hard to explain, but I guess after being on the road for so long, you begin to feel used to being uprooted. Now we can get back to planting our roots again. (Speaking of which - the garden is still living! And tomatoes, carrots and peas all look like they’re going to make it!)
Anyways: stay posted as much as you’d like, and don’t forget about our show this Friday night. (read below).

It’s gonna be madness! We played with Dan in Calgary on our tour last month and he was amazing. Please come and bring your friends. Rumour has it that there might be Freezies at the show. Who knows?!

At 8 pm(pacific time) you can catch a live show of us at www.streamingcafe.net or come see it in real life, not cyber real life at 596 Leon ave in Kelowna.
We are currently driving through the mountains, it is so wonderful to see them again. That means we’re almost home!!
We had a really fun house show last night in Calgary, thanks to the Bergs. Also got to spend time with family, which is always a bonus!
